The desire for gardening has gripped people everywhere. And because plants in the south have different needs from those in the north, COMPO targets its product range towards the crop-specific requirements – and does so very successfully. 

It forms the basis for all growth: potting soil. In 1956, COMPO was the first company to bring it onto the market in consumer-friendly packaging. Up to this day, substrates have been one of the most important ranges of the multinational company. Potting soil is the foundation for every plant. It supports the roots and ensures the plant stands firm. It stores water and nutrients and allows enough air to reach the roots. Whether it be universal or special soil: COMPO understands the needs of the various plants very well and puts together substrates that are perfectly tailored to their specific requirements. 

Thick and deep green in colour, the perfect lawn cannot be realised without a little maintenance. Directed at the specific requirements, the seeds form the basis of a healthy lawn. To ensure the lawn withstands the stresses of everyday gardening, it needs to be regularly supplied with nutrients. This is the only way for it to retain its deep green colour and remain resistant to diseases and pests.  

As different as plants may be, they have one thing in common, they need light, heat, air, water and, most importantly, nutrients to develop optimally. They can only form large green leaves, colourful petals and juicy fruits if they get enough nitrogen, phosphate, potassium and magnesium. Since every plant has different needs, the ingredients of the liquid and solid fertilisers are tailored to their individual requirements.  

Whether it be fungi, insect infestation, snails or weeds, there are a variety of diseases and pests with the potential to damage plant health. Exhaustive authorisation procedures and rigorous checks carried out by the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety guarantee uniform standards for the performance of plant protection products, as well as for the protection of humans, animals and nature. COMPO offers a broad range of products that work both rapidly and effectively. At the same time, an increasing number of plant-based products is being deployed, such as rapeseed oil, orange oil or neem, that provide natural protection against pests and are also not dangerous to bees.
